The Minnesota Senate, District 5, (SD 5)includes communities in Becker, Cass, Hubbard, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties in the north central part of the state. The district helps elect 1 state senator and 2 state representatives (SD 5A and SD 5B) . The current chair is Alan Perish.
SD 5 is part of Congressional Districts 7 and 8 which covers much of western Minnesota.
